policies, terms, and guidelines - vacationer

There are tens of thousands of tourism businesses around the world, each with their own unique experiences to offer… and Don’t BUGMe I’m On Vacation wants to help you find the perfect experiences to satisfy your own unique vacation needs.

We do this by assisting vacationers (you) in finding tourism experience that best meet your expectations; and by assisting tourism businesses to find customers they can best impress.

Our website and map are how we facilitate this connection and the Road Trip Pass is how we enhance the connection.

The premise of the Road Trip Pass is: an honest deal at a fair price

While the Road Trip Pass is rooted in common sense, and its use should be somewhat self-explanatory, this contract includes legal and practical parameters to which you (the vacationer), we (Don’t BUGMe I’m On Vacation), and partner businesses agree to abide.

We first start by explaining some terminology, then below elaborate with additional details and clarification.

Policies and Guidelines

Website

  • www.bugme.travel (DBM) is NOT a booking or reservation site. It does NOT make reservations with, or on behalf of anyone. DBM is a reference and referral site for the purpose of:

  1. connecting Vacationers and tourism businesses, and

  2. facilitating Participating Businesses offering financial savings to Vacationers who patron their business.

  • Bookings, reservations, and payment happen directly between Vacationer and business.

    • Therefore, disputes, rescheduling, and refunds also happen directly between Vacationer and business.

  • DBM DOES assist Vacationers to find tourism businesses; and facilitates these businesses offering Vacationers with a Standard Discount for their patronage.

  • There is no charge to use our website to research and plan your vacation. However, to access advanced features, such as saving your Playlists and being offered discounts on travel experiences, you must have an account.

Accounts

  • Accounts are created when a Road Trip Pass (RTP) is purchased.

  • An Active RTP is also the mechanism to be offered Standard Discounts from Participating Businesses.

  • Therefore, an RTP must be purchased to access advanced features of our website and discounts from Participating Businesses.

Map

  • The map is populated with known tourism businesses (activities, accommodations, eateries) in a given region, and we continually research the tourism industry to add more.

  • The types of businesses you’ll find are local and independently owned. We tend not to include franchises nor businesses within major city limits.

  • Searching the map can be done in two ways:

    • Filters – a robust selection of filters can be found in the top left of the map. Check ON the features you’d like to experience, leave OFF the features you do not require on your vacation.

      • The “Offers” filter toggles ON Participating Businesses who are offing discounts to Active RTP holders; OFF includes all businesses

    • Search bar – type an elaborate description of your ideal vacation and our AI search function will offer suggestions.

  • You may save your favorite business listings. This will keep them pinned on the map, regardless of your filter selections. Will they be removed if a new Search is performed?

Road Trip Pass (discounts)

  • The Road Trip Pass (RTP) gives Vacationers access to one (1) Standard Discount: 20% off Activities.

  • To be offered Standard Discounts from Participating Business you must be forthright about your RTP with the business. The following must be complied with:

  1. Your RTP must be Active (your account subscription must be paid up)

  2. You must inform the Participating Businesses of your Active RTP:

    1. at time of booking, and

    2. at time of check-in.

  • In the case of restaurants, you must inform your server prior to them brining the bill.

  • While discounts are standard, they are not blanket discounts offered on every aspect of Participating Businesses. Standard Discounts apply only to Principal Business Offering.

    • Example: a whitewater rafting company would offer 20% off of whitewater rafting but the discount would not apply to photos of the trip or the retail shop.

    • Example: a hotel would offer 15% off a room stay but the discount would not apply to upgrades such as pet fee or use of weight room.

    • Example: a restaurant would offer 10% off an entrée but not dessert.

  • Not all businesses have chosen to offer Standard Discounts to Vacationers. However, those who are, are indicated with a star in their profile on our website.

  • The applicable Standard Discount will also be found in the business profile on our website.

  • Feel free to confirm with each individual Participating Business as to what they offer the Standard Discount towards.

  • Your RTP may be used unlimited times while your subscription is Active.

  • Your RTP is NOT valid at the time of purchase when booking with a Participating Business.

    • For example: when booking dog sledding, you cannot also purchase an RTP and apply the discount to that excursion. The RTP must have been purchased and activated prior.

  • Your RTP is NOT valid retroactively – to existing reservations.

  • Road Trip Passes are non-transferrable.

    • The RTP account holder must be the same person who books the reservation.

    • The RTP account holder must be present at time of excursion. However, the RTP account holder does not need to participate in the excursion; ie. Grandpa buys zip-lining for his family but does not zip-line himself.

    • The RTP account holder is welcome to include friends in their reservation.

  • Discounts are NOT applicable to already discounted offerings, such as group rates; or legally prohibited sale items, such as alcohol and tobacco.

Refunds

  • Road Trip Passes are non-refundable. This is to discourage anyone from “working the system”.

    • We, at DBM, have spent great effort to coordinate an honest deal at a fair price, and we appreciate our customers and partners to reciprocate with in-kind earnestness.

    • That being said, we aren’t corporate tyrants and extraneous circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Refund of your RTP happens directly with DBM, regardless if you had purchased from an affiliate seller.

  • Allow 7-10 business days for refunds to arrive.

Situations

  • DBM is a reference service and is not responsible for the conduct of any business nor its customers.

  • Please let us know if a Participating Business is not honoring an Active RTP by offering Vacationers their advertised Standard Discount.

As mentioned, Don’t BUGMe I’m On Vacation and the Road Trip Pass are meant to offer an honest deal at a fair price. We have designed this business and product to support local businesses and vacationers seeking authentic tourism experiences.

Of course, travels don’t always go as smoothly as planned. If you have legitimate concerns about the experience you had with our company or our partner businesses, we are more than happy to work with you to fairly rectify the situation. However, should you feel the urge to “abuse, cheat, exploit, or beat the system” we kindly ask you to patron one of the other big box sales sites.

Thank you for your support and enjoy your vacation!
